Recent questions have been raised about Obama's religious views. Obama is a memeber at Chicago's Trinity United Church Of Christ here is their platform. Change black for white and what would you call the person who allied himself with an institution that believe these things?
"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.
Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:
1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY."
Does that sound like the type of guy to "bring us together"

I am not overly pro-black, however, I do believe blacks have relied on whites too much for our advancement, which is totally unlike slaves/freed/runaway slaves. Whites helped because they were good Godly people. Blacks now are forgetting all we need to do on our own with God as our true help. Although I don't support another twist to the KKK/Black Panther movement, this church does not seem to be preaching hate. I do not like allegiance to Africa first. Allegiance to United States first. That may be my only contention.
Wanting a more sound answer from Obama.

Have you seen Joe Lieberman tenets?
Smearing/defaming critics of Israel: I.E. anyone who questions Israel..s motives are labeled a anti-Semite
Selective discussion of issues
Framing of issues, and setting the terminology used in discussing Israel
Harassing media about its coverage, aka, flak(refers to negative responses to a media statement or program)
Challenging the portrayal of an alternative narrative, and attempting to keep the Zionist narrative as the dominant one.
Name calling: through the careful use of words, then name calling technique links a person or an idea to a negative symbol.
Glittering generality: Simply put, glittering generality is name calling in reverse. Instead of trying to attach negative meanings to ideas or people, glittering generalities use positive phrases, which the audience are attached to, in order to lend positive image to things. Words such as "freedom", "civilization"
Transfer: Transfer involves taking some of the prestige and authority of one concept and applying it to another. For example, a speaker might decide to speak in front of a United Nations flag, in an attempt to gain legitimacy for himself or his idea.
Testimonial: Testimonial means enlisting the support of somebody admired or famous to endorse and ideal or campaign.
Plain folks: The plain folks technique attempts to convince the listener that the speaker is a 'regular guy', who is trust-worthy because the are like 'you or me.
I got this from the Hasbara student handbook I..m not joking they have a handbook. Here is what is said about this book:
"The Hasbara Handbook prescribes fascinating instructions on attacking the messenger and avoiding the message at all costs ..in ways that engage the emotions, and downplay rationality, in an attempt to promote.. their cause. In a section entitled ..Name Calling,.. Israel's Jewish Agency writes, ..Creating negative connotations by name calling is done to try and get the audience to reject a person or idea on the basis of negative associations, without allowing a real examination of that person or idea."
