January 21 at TCUU

Since i know most of you couldn't attend Trinity United Church of Christ (obama's church) on January 21 so I thought i would pass on part of the church bulletin to you.

The President tries to frame the justification for his insanity by using language describing the debate in this country over the war as “a great struggle between those who believe in freedom in moderation and extremists who kill the innocent.”

The reality, however, is that the entire war in Iraq and the larger “war on terror” have been based on lies, half-truths and distortions to serve the agenda of the United States imperialism. Where is the public outcry? Where is the outrage? What’s goin’ on?

There is more focus on what the Bears may or may not do as they play a football game against New Orleans than there is on the 3,000 homeless who are still living or displaced in the real life game called “New Orleans.”

Those poor Black and white displaced citizens of New Orleans (not imported team members playing for New Orleans), who have no place to go and no place to live because of this administration’s illegal war and its billions of dollars wasted on prosecuting that war, join with me in asking, “What’s goin’ on?”

Does a man who aligns himself with a group like this deserve to be president?

BTW you missed your chance to get Obama's autograph after the church service on Jan 28th. Sorry i was late getting the info to you.

Any idea where the ACLU is to stop this seperation of church and state?

Obama's religion

Recent questions have been raised about Obama's religious views. Obama is a memeber at Chicago's Trinity United Church Of Christ here is their platform. Change black for white and what would you call the person who allied himself with an institution that believe these things?

"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family

4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY."

Does that sound like the type of guy to "bring us together"

Are we a little full of ourselves Barack?

Several times, including during his announcement, Obama has compared himself to Lincoln. In an oldie but goodie column Peggy Noonan tried to set him straight.

"Actually Lincoln's life is a lot like Mr. Obama's. Lincoln came from a lean-to in the backwoods. His mother died when he was 9. The Lincolns had no money, no standing. Lincoln educated himself, reading law on his own, working as a field hand, a store clerk and a raft hand on the Mississippi. He also split some rails. He entered politics, knew more defeat than victory, and went on to lead the nation through its greatest trauma, the Civil War, and past its greatest sin, slavery.

Barack Obama, the son of two University of Hawaii students, went to Columbia and Harvard Law after attending a private academy that taught the children of the Hawaiian royal family. He made his name in politics as an aggressive Chicago vote hustler in Bill Clinton's first campaign for the presidency.

You see the similarities.

There is nothing wrong with Barack Obama's résumé, but it is a log-cabin-free zone. So far it also is a greatness-free zone. If he keeps talking about himself like this it always will be."

Just a hint here. You probably shouldn’t embarrass yourself by comparing yourself to Abe Lincoln

From the best political speechwriter of all time

"Sen. Obama spent his short lifetime breathing in the common liberal/leftist wisdom, which he exhales at length. This is not something new--it's something old in a new package. And it is something that wins you what he has, a series of 100% ratings from left-liberal interest groups."

The "wasted" comment

"We ended up launching a war that should have never been authorized, and should have never been waged, and to which we have now spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted." Barack Obama

I won't even waste time responding when it has been said better by someone else:

"Obviously if you are reading this then I have died in Iraq. I kind of predicted this, that is why I'm writing this in November. A third time just seemed like I'm pushing my chances. I don't regret going, everybody dies but few get to do it for something as important as freedom. It may seem confusing why we are in Iraq, it's not to me. I'm here helping these people, so that they can live the way we live. Not have to worry about tyrants or vicious dictators. To do what they want with their lives. To me that is why I died. Others have died for my freedom, now this is my mark."

Marine Cpl. Jeffrey B. Starr

Starr died from small-arms fire while conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Ar Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. During Operation Iraqi Freedom his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

You have no moral authority to judge this man's life as "wasted" and no apology you can ever offer makes up for your thoughts that lead you to say what you said.

How effective is Obama?

Barack Obama has sponsored 75 bills since Jan 4, 2005, of which 70 haven't made it out of committee (Extremely Poor) and 1 were successfully enacted (Average, relative to peers). Obama has co-sponsored 289 bills during the same time period (Average, relative to peers).

So 2 years -70 bills that were so bad they didnt make it out of committe and one new law. Average at best and now he wants a promotion?

If you like taxes you will LOVE Obama

How big of a Taxer is Obama? Try supporting 300 new taxes and fees in one year- his final in the state senate. Ted Kennedy would be proud and you would be poorer

"The National Taxpayers Union will point a hard finger at Obama for voting to impose 300 new taxes and fees on businesses in his last year in the state senate."

Obama on Same-sex marriage

In 1996 Obama twice took the time to speak out against the defense of marriage act. This act was written to make it where one state did not have to recognize the same-sex marriage if it was performed in another state. It passed the senate in 1996 by a final vote of 85-14 and was signed into law by Bill Clinton. Yet another Obama extreme position

Obama and sex offenders

Did you know in 1999 Obama was the only state senator to vote against a bill that would have prevented sex offenders from getting early release? The only senator who didn’t want to force perverts to stay locked up. Thanks Barack

Obama on abortion

Obama is the most liberal senator on abortion. Period end of story- For proof just look at the “Illinois Born Alive Infants Protection Act” which Obama always voted against.

The act was written to force doctors who are performing abortions to treat the baby if it was born alive. Similar legislation passed the United States Senate by a 98-0 vote- not even john Kerry or Ted Kennedy had the guts to vote against that one but Obama did on the state level.

Obama has also voted twice in Illinois to force taxpayers to pay for abortions. Even if you are Pro-choice surely you dont support taking money from people and making them pay for what they consider murder do you?

Obama has also voted in favor of partial-birth abortion which is opposed by 80% of Americans. He is such a big fan of allowing the procedure he uses it as a fundraising tool.

Is this the new face of moderation from the Democratic party?

Perhaps the best political line ever

Senator Mitch McConnell recently gave a speech recently to the Alfalfa Club, a Washington social group he belongs to that exists solely to celebrate Robert E. Lee's birthday. He offered up this gem:

"The Democrats look like they're going to have some great candidates running in 2008. Also, Dennis Kucinich will be running. Seriously, they have an interesting group. They've got a New York senator whose home was Arkansas ... an Iowa governor who was born in Pennsylvania ... and a senator from Illinois who was apparently born in a manger."

Obamamania

Obamamania- has officially infected the main stream meadia. It seems like every time you turn on the radio or television there is one of the old media members fawning over a first term senator from Illinois.

Of course no one from the media will ask Obama a hard question or tell you about his beliefs so that is why we are here. So you can know the real Obama.
